January 2012 I have now moved to Bradford on Avon. For my new address, please see the Contact page. My email address and mobile number remian the same. It will take me some time to transport my workshop to the new address, and during that time I will be working in both places. This memorial stone (see right) for the sister of a friend is now in place in a village just outside Cheltenham.Portland stone. I'm now ready to begin work on a commission to make a seated female figure. I will probably carve it in Spain from pink Ronda sandstone. But I also want to explore the possibility of using a Bath stone from near my new home. The bench for my fell-running friend is well under way. I had a lovely day in the Peak District with her partner, selecting the stone and planning the exact location. The stone will be Foolow sandstone from a quarry very close to a place they used to run together. I've just finished and delivered a birdbath fashioned from a double green man head. (see right). Bath stone with a Portland stone plinth. Pictures of current work in progress coming soon.
Some examples of my work at Kelmscott Manor Six of my relief plaques can be found at Kelmscott Manor - a house linked with William Morris. My plaques echo some of the features associated with the Arts and Crafts movement - a focus on stylised plant and animal forms and a delight in pattern and symmetry. The ermine on the right is one of the pieces available to purchase at the Kelmscott Manor shop.
